Ben Riley
Staffordshire artist, Ben Riley was born in 1981. From the age at which he could pick up a pencil, Ben started to draw and paint, his flare becoming apparent.
He went on to study art from the age of 14, experimenting, and thus developing his own original styles and techniques. This made him stand out from his fellow students.
In 2002, Ben became a professional artist, selling his iconic, eye catching portrait paintings worldwide, gaining notoriety for the way he captured the mood, soul and character of the subject.
His unique painting method of famous musicians’ faces creates a sensational finish using only record fragments. Even the detail of the artwork is made from ground-down record dust. No pigment at all is used in the creation of each piece.
With celebrity collectors of Ben's commissioned pieces and several features on television and in the press, Ben continues his career as an accomplished artist.
Riley’s latest works utilise black volcanic sand, representing the fragility of our landscape and the impact on the natural world and animals around us.
