Born in 1955, Joe Bowen lives in the heart of mid Wales with his family. His professional painting career spans over 25 years, during which time his work has developed from traditional figurative painting through a number of stages, to the more liberal and vigorous style he now employs.

Varying his subject matter, often his work capture the gritty environment of a Welsh town, the allure and sparkle of the big city, or the tranquility and wistfulness of a country scene.
