 Much like in a classroom, or being stuck in the Dentist's chair, Time can have a mind of its own and decides how fast or slow it wants to pass. At Gallery Rouge, we spent a great deal of time getting ready for our recent exhibition with the incredibly talented Katy Jade Dobson. And as quick as the big day seemed to creep up on us, here we are 2 weeks later. Doesn't time fly!

 The main event itself was a fantastic chance for fans of Katy's work to come along to gallery and meet their favourite artists and get an up-close chat to find out exactly what makes Katy tick.

 The exhibition itself was displayed around the theme of "Animalium" the Latin name for a collective of animals. Simple. Does exactly what it says on the tin! However, with the beautiful nature of Katy's work, these animals were a true marvel to look upon.

During her interview with Andy, our in-house Media Monkey, Katy discussed her process of creation and time scales for creating such truly stunning works of art.

"It's difficult to put a time scale on any one piece, as I work on several at once and work on different parts at a time. They can take anything up to 3-6 months really."

A rather fun little add-on, for anyone purchasing an original piece by Katy, you receive the actual Paint brush used by Katy to create the piece itself! Also, signed, just in case any of your friends doubt you and think you picked it up on the way home!

As this was Katy's last public exhibition in the UK before she leaves us for Miami Beach's Art Basel International Art Fair this December, we were extremely lucky to have her!
